Beginning Again on Purpose

I never realized how much shame I had been carrying around business. I kept telling myself that I was waiting until everything was ready, the business, the website, the plan, the right opportunity. But if I am honest, I think it was less about the business being ready and more about me not being ready to be seen again. I was afraid of the questions. Is she not cleaning anymore? Did that business fail? Is she starting something else again? Does she do too much? Is she all over the place? I am a private person, and I know I do not share much. For a while, I told myself that my silence was simply privacy. Some of it was. But some of it was shame. Some of it was disappointment. Some of it was the fear of letting people watch me try again without knowing whether it would work. My first company made me feel so high, and then so much changed so quickly. I learned that even good things can feel unsafe when you have experienced how quickly they can disappear. I thought I was waiting for God to show me what to do next. Now I wonder if God has been waiting for me. Waiting for me to stop treating the last chapter like proof that I should hide. Waiting for me to use what I learned. Waiting for me to understand that wearing more than one hat does not mean I am without direction. Waiting for me to move forward with courage, even while I am still afraid. So I am beginning again, but I am not beginning from nothing. I am beginning with experience. I am beginning with greater discernment. I am beginning with a stronger foundation. I am beginning with God. And this time, I am beginning on purpose.

I thought I was waiting for God. Now I wonder if God has been waiting for me.
